The Austrian DIY multiple, Baumax, has announced a service initiative that is to be launched on 30 and 31 January 2003 in all its stores, both at home and abroad. The concept for greater customer satisfaction contains nine points, though many of them are really among the basic expectations that consumers have of retailers in general. The company names them as “Friendly staff, best possible advice, availability of goods, guaranteed prices, money-back guarantee, rapid checkout service, in-store atmosphere, quick handling of complaints and a range of special services (price-lopping card, DIY guide, installation service, transport hire, home delivery, plant hire, etc.).”
