The Austrian paint and coatings suppliers recorded a 3.4 per cent sales increase in 2002

Adler of Schwaz, Austria, the manufacturer of paints, varnishes and wood preservatives, achieved sales of € 57.5 mio in the year 2002, which was an increase of 3.4 per cent over the previous year. Exports accounted for a share of 33.5 per cent. The company names Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Eastern Europe, France and Greece as its main foreign markets. The main emphasis is on wood coating systems. Altogether 63 per cent of the 13 000 tons that left the plant in Tyrol in 2002 was water-based. Adler considers itself to be the market leader in the Austrian DIY market.
