Rautakesko, the building materials and DIY store division of the Finnish Kesko Group, ended the year 2002 with a sales deficit, in contrast to the positive figures recorded by the group as a whole. Gross sales were down by 1.3 per cent to € 754.7 mio, whereby marked fluctuations were evident in the course of the year. The months of January through to March went particularly badly for Rautakesko, at times with double-digit setbacks. Then September brought growth of almost 13 per cent over the same month in the previous year. For December the division announces an increase of 3.7 per cent.
