German indifference to smoke alarms

25.11.2002

The proportion of households equipped with a device still remains far behind other countries

Smoke alarms are installed in no more than seven per cent of German households, whereas the proportion in the United Kingdom and the USA stands at 90 per cent. In Germany the company supplies its products to OBI and Wal-Mart.
