The trend towards large-format stores is still continuing in France. The manufacturers’ association UNIBAL has pointed this out in a study and expressed the fear that the range is developing further and further away from DIY articles in the original sense of the term. It is expected that the number of outlets will have increased by 65, or 1.5 per cent, to 2 720. At the same time the retail area will increase by 5.5 per cent to 5.932 m².
