Leading figures in the DIY sector have agreed to speak at the Practical World conference, the first such meeting of the sector to be organised on the eve of the Practical World fair. The keynote speaker will be Robert L. Tilmann, president and chief operating officer of Lowe’s. Kingfisher boss Sir Geoffrey Mulcahy has also been invited to speak. The congress is being held in three sessions, entitled “The international DIY Scene – Prospects and Opportunities for the DIY Trade Worldwide”, “Consumer Preferences – New Concepts for a changing DIY Market” and “Building new Partnerships – new Solutions for Cooperation between Trade and Industry”.
