In the red in Austria

In the first six months of 2002 Baumax achieved gross sales of € 436 mio, which is an increase of 5.3 per cent on the same period in the previous year. This despite the fact that the company recorded a reduction of 4.5 per cent to € 255 mio in Austria, which is being attributed to store closures. Total sales of € 181 mio in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia resulted in an increase of 23.5 per cent. For the full year the company expects a volume of € 900 mio.
