Kingfisher’s DIY business had a turnover of € 5.434 mio in the first six months

Kingfisher has announced 14.6 per cent sales growth for its DIY business to £ 3.422 bn (€ 5.434 bn) during the first six months of the current financial year (to 3 August 2002). This is still an increase of 2.8 per cent in like-for-like terms. The United Kingdom accounted for a turnover of £ 1.940 bn (€ 3.081 bn). This translates into growth of 16 per cent, or three per cent like-for-like. Net sales in France came to £ 1.018 bn (€ 1.617 bn), which means an overall increase of 9.4 per cent, or 1.4 per cent like-for-like. The group achieved the highest rates of growth in its international business: here the sales volume of £ 464 mio (€ 737 mio) resulted in an increase of 21.3 per cent, or 5.5 per cent like-for-like.
