Home Depot intends to take over the four Del Norte stores. Two more outlets are also to be opened at the end of 2002

Home Depot is taking over Del Norte, the Mexican DIY group, which operates four stores with a combined retail area of approx. 7 340 m². The head of Del Norte, Eduardo Cantu, is changing over to Home Depot Mexico as district manager. The Mexican government still has to approve the sale. Furthermore, the company announced that construction work has already begun on a newly acquired location in Mexicali, and a start is soon to be made on work in Tijuna as well. Both outlets are scheduled to open at the end of 2002. Last year saw the world market leader acquire the four outlets of the Mexican trader Total Home as well.
