A head start through proximity

The market for decorative and domestic lighting is changing: it is becoming more restrained, selective, and sophisticated. Lichtwoche Sauerland aims to create orientation and stability through exchange between retailers and manufacturers.

In the first week of March, suppliers and decision-makers from the European decorative and domestic lighting trade will meet again. The participating manufacturers will present new products and collections in their showrooms – deliberately away from crowded exhibition halls and without sensory overload, the organizers emphasize.

“This personal setting is becoming increasingly important. With the consumer climate remaining subdued, direct exchange is becoming more important than ever,” emphasize the organizers of Lichtwoche. “Investments in the living environment are being weighed up more carefully. Quality, profile, efficiency, and long-term usability are becoming more important.” The organizers are convinced that these are values that open up new opportunities for the lighting industry: “For retailers and manufacturers, this means clearly positioning product ranges, highlighting differences, and preparing well-founded decisions.”

For the new spokespersons for the event, Alois Fischer (Fischer & Honsel GmbH) and Andreas Kuhrt (Eglo Leuchten Handels GmbH), Lichtwoche Sauerland “is not just a product show – it is a creative marketplace for ideas, relationships, and further development.” Differences are immediately apparent, and discussions with manufacturers are direct and concrete. Alois Fischer emphasizes: “At a time when consumer behavior is changing noticeably, it is more important than ever to give the industry a platform that offers guidance and confidence.”

Fischer and Kuhrt emphasize that Lichtwoche Sauerland has been demonstrating its lead through proximity for two decades. Manufacturers and dealers, buyers and resellers appreciate the compact, personal format. The evening event Lightnight, with the motto “Light it Up,” also offers space for personal conversations and exchange.

The market for high-quality lighting solutions, well-thought-out concepts, and sophisticated design is alive and well

“The market for high-quality lighting solutions, well-thought-out concepts, and sophisticated design is alive and well,” says Dennis Köhler, who is organizing Light Week again this year. While some suppliers are expanding their product ranges to broaden their base, others are focusing specifically on individual, specialized solutions. This is exactly where Light Week comes in.

Visitor preparation is supported digitally. The website and accompanying #LWS app provide visitors with an overview of participating companies, locations, and exhibition highlights. An AI-supported route planner helps to efficiently bundle visits. In addition, the app offers a new digital support feature called “Luzi,” which answers questions about Light Week.
