Almost fully booked: Around six months before the International Hardware Fair, which will take place in Cologne from March 3 to 6, 2026, the organizers have reported strong participation from the industry in the DIY Boulevard. Almost all available spaces for exhibitors have already been allocated, Koelnmesse announced at the beginning of October, when 60 registrations had already been received. A “record turnout” of exhibitors is expected again for 2026.

And that's how it should be for a small anniversary: DIY Boulevard celebrated its premiere ten years ago at the 2016 Hardware Fair. The basic idea behind this promenade for the home improvement industry is still valid today. Within the range of tools and accessories, construction and DIY supplies, fastening and connection technology, and industrial supplies on display at the trade fair, the DIY Boulevard in Hall 11 is intended to be a “concentrated showcase” for the trade with a focus on DIY, construction, and gardening products.

The special feature of the boulevard since its inception has been the presentation of products in shelf format. This is intended to simulate realistic retail sales situations. Integrated discussion areas at each shelf and the stand of the Haus & Garten (HHG) manufacturers' association as the center of the DIY Boulevard serve as a forum for exchange. Participation in the DIY Boulevard is exclusively reserved for HHG member companies.

The participation of the Hima network is intended to provide additional international visibility. This means that in 2026, member companies from all regional associations will be represented on the DIY Boulevard for the first time. The Home Improvement Manufacturers Association is the international umbrella organization for national DIY manufacturers' associations.

"The DIY Boulevard has become one of the main attractions at the Eisenwarenmesse in recent years, and for good reason. Here, trade visitors can experience products as they will later be presented in stores. Together with the HHG, we offer exhibitors and visitors alike a unique added value,“ explains Sebastian Hein, Director of the International Hardware Fair Cologne.
