Strategic move of Taiwan Hardware Show

Taiwan’s largest trade exhibition for the hardware industry is set for a bigger and better return this year with wider diversity in product showcases, exhibitor profiles and worldwide visitor representations, organiser Kaigo announces

This year on October 19 to 21 Taiwan Hardware Show and the co-located International Metal Technology Taiwan, will make its debut at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center. Anticipation to welcome back large international trade visitors after the long travel slowdown has also led THS & iMT organizer to identify a conducive venue with well-functioning facilities to accommodate more in-hall meeting areas, wider booth spaces and specially designated areas for seminars and other onsite activities. Covering 20 000+ m2 of hall space, THS & iMT 2022 is earmarked to host 500 exhibiting companies; comprising Taiwan’s leading OEM, ODM and OBM who are geared up to entice some 30 000 targeted visiting retailers, import agents, channel distributors with their newly launched products.

The exhibition will be augmented with a variety of onsite programs such as offline an online business matchmaking, new innovative-product live demonstrations for each exhibiting category, and seminars hosted by the Metal Industries Research and Development Centre.

"Kaohsiung will be a great change to promote greater internationality of the exhibition and to attract stronger visitor presence from global markets. Housed at a proper international-standard MICE venue (KEC) strategically located in the heart of Taiwan’s robust commerce, the city offers travel comfort for trade visitors who are accustomed to the accessibility factor drawing them to other large overseas trade fairs. For THS to maintain its renowned purposeful status amongst frequent visitors, the move to the new city will further enhance their visiting experience and business travel value to meet multiple prospective partners within a short yet focused duration in Taiwan," said Gerd Keim, president of Kaigo Co; Ltd, organizer of THS.

Sharing confidence on Taiwan Hardware Show (THS) & International Metal Technology Taiwan (iMT) organized by Kaigo, the timely move at a time when businesses are bouncing back from the disruptive impacts of the pandemic, Mr. Josh Chen, Chairman of the Taiwan Fastener Trading Association noted that, "Kaohsiung is ultimately where real business takes place." A real hardware and metal exhibition consists of professional products, professional buyers and a professional venue. This year THS & iMT will showcase new exhibiting categories: power tools, plumbing hardware, wire and tube, mold and die and robot automation. These new exhibiting categories together with Taiwan’s strongest array of hand tools, automotive repair tools, gardening tools, locks and fittings, casting machinery, heat treatment machinery and testing equipment will present a more well-rounded visiting experience for professional buyers. THS & iMT in Kaohsiung is on the right track to being one of the most influential exhibitions for the hardware and metal industry in Asia, organiser Kaigo is convinced.

Mr. Harry Chen, General Manager from E-Make Co., Ltd. added that, "As Taiwan’s only international hardware exhibition, THS has always been able to draw high quality visitors from all over the world and continues to attract new visitors from more countries each year. The exhibition has steadily grown in prominence and importance as the must-attend event in the business calendar of hardware traders seeking top-quality, Taiwan-made hardware that are highly sellable in export markets due to its competitive pricing and unmatched service delivery."

“iMT’s move to Kaohsiung is not only the right decision, but a decision that would strengthen Taiwan’s capital for metal forming & processing. Kaohsiung is the home Taiwan’s steel and metal material giants such as YiehHui."

With numerous fastener manufacturers in its backyard - many of whom have been dedicated in joining THS through its past years at Taichung - Kaohsiung now bears strategic advantages that would further contribute to the diversity of THS 2022's exhibitor mix and expanding the product spectrum across the 8 exhibit categories. While fasteners and fittings stand as its own category, the other eight categories; tools and accessories, locks and fittings, plumbing hardware, building supplies, garden and outdoor equipment, automotive supplies and accessories, machines and plant equipment and lastly safety equipment and products carry parts and components stemming from similar fastener manufacturing sources that are vastly native to Kaohsiung.

The refreshed Taiwan Hardware Show is supported by local as well as foreign industry organizations and associations such as the Kaohsiung City Government, European DIY Retailers Association / Global Home Improvement Network (EDRA/GHIN), Changhua County Industrial Association (CHCIA), Taiwan Industry Fastener Institute (TIFI), Taiwan Fasteners Trading Association (TFTA), Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association (TEEMA), Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI) Chinese Fluid Power Association, Taiwan Metal Industry Association, Plumbing Association, Association of Locks & Hardware Taiwan (ALHT),   Taipei Hardware Dealers Association and the Metal Industries Research Development Center (MIRDC) for their twin support to THS's co-located exhibition, the International Metal Technology Taiwan.
