The Austrian company regards itself as a competent trendsetter in decorative matters within the fiercely competitive laminate flooring market with its product lines Floorline, Emotion, Terra and Globart. These collections are tailored to the respective requirements of different groups, from architects through to specialist retailers and professional layers of flooring, as well as the DIY sector.
The company regards itself as both trendsetter and authority in the laminate flooring market.
The Floorline collection was expanded two years ago by the addition of an elegant line, which includes “Beech elegant” and “Maple royal” in particular. It was a good year later when the company found the answer to the demand for rustic flooring in the shape of its Terra collection. This collection highlights heavily brushed surfaces, which are designed to bring a feeling of nature and earthiness into people’s living spaces. Globart, the specialist retailer line, is coming up with a totally new combination. Integrated into the new “Globart systems” flooring are LED elements, which take the product in an entirely new direction: disengaged from a purely functional usage, flooring moves towards a new culture of individuality in interior design.
Klaus Monhoff, decor manager at Egger E.F.P., sees the market as split in two. “The consumerist, and therefore major, part desires laminate flooring that is elegant and exclusive. However, we are at present observing that strong pressure exists within the innovative-progressive area towards the rustic style of flooring. Egger is reacting to this with two collections: on the one hand Terra, a distinctly rustic country house collection, which is a real winner, especially in our export markets; and on the other hand “Globart designs”, a striking designer trend which reflects the floor’s natural character through contrasts of light and dark. This collection allows for the greatest possible amount of freedom in furnishing design through inclusion of the discreet country house style at the same time.”

In this connection Monhoff gives the current fantasy decors a chance only in combination with a total decor system, since in his opinion, “Fantasy decors have no future on their merits alone. Though stone- and tile-look finishes have a niche potential.” Which is why the company from St. Johann already offers laminate flooring of this kind.
