The production programme includes lawnmowers, trimmers and grass tractors as well as the Terra-Vari system, which is a modular system that can be fitted with around 35 different attachments both active and passive.
The Turbo Lux 18 V grass tractor can even be used in bad weather.
Newer models such as the Turbo Lux V 18 grass tractor and the Hurricane F 530 mulcher have enabled the company, which has its headquarters at Libice nad Cidlinou, to get a foothold in several other countries and so consolidate the position of the Vari brand in the European market. Vari also supplies its products as private labels. The machines are driven by Honda engines.
The recently produced Turbo Lux 18 V lawn tractor, for example, is fitted with an 18 HP, two-cylinder Honda engine. Long grass can be cut whatever the weather.
Mowing and mulching in one is possible with the Hurricane F 530 mulcher.
The Hurricane F 530 mulcher is particularly suitable for cutting areas of long, unkempt grass. The machine mows the grass and crushes it at the same time. The cutter drive has a security brake and the steering handles are height-adjustable and can be tilted over the engine to facilitate storage. The wheel hubs are equipped with a freewheel clutch for ease of turning.
The history of Vari, which is today a public limited company, dates back to the year 1912, when Antonin Jelinek took over a blacksmith’s business, which he ran together with the repair and manufacture of agricultural machinery. By the early thirties the company was selling agricultural machinery that it had developed itself. The major thrust of economic growth came in the years after 1948, when the firm’s name was changed many times over. Then at the end of the sixties a licensing agreement was concluded with the German company Gutbrod for the production of the Terra system, which was successfully carried out over the following years.
In 1991 Vari a.s. was taken over by Mepol. At the present time the company has 200 employees and exports 30 per cent of total production to a number of countries including Spain, Germany, Denmark, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Venezuela.
