A first from the Austrian company Kaindl of Salzburg is a floor laminate in a three-dimensional design, presented under their “living floor” motto. This effect is achieved by the arrangement of squares of different colours to create a pattern of light and shade.

Also new is the “Snap” line for laminate floors. A great number of collections now feature this interlocking technique, which allows for glueless laying. This process, which has been patented by Kaindl, means that floors can be laid without the need for any tools.
Further development of the technique has resulted in “Snap plus”, whereby the flooring panels are supplied ex factory complete with assembly glue. Kaindl claims that this technique, for which a patent is pending, will guarantee clean workmanship and make it possible to create self-locking panel joints. The glue is only activated during the actual laying process. The supplier maintains that the coating of glue is so precisely calculated that no contamination occurs during fitting, nor is it necessary to remove any excess glue.
“Snap silent” deals with the issue of room sound insulation. According to the supplier, this product achieves considerably improved impact-sound insulation and walk-on comfort. The particular feature of the product is integrated insulation provided by special recycled foam.

The all-wood line has also been expanded: Now launched under the umbrella brand “Snap by Kaindl wood” is a parquet flooring line, “Snap parkett”, as an addition to the veneer version. This product also features the patented interlocking technique and, according to Kaindl, is particularly suitable for use when doing renovation work.
Kaindl regards itself as one of the leading international producers of processed derived timber products and laminate flooring. The company achieved sales amounting to 254 mio euro with a workforce of 740 in the most recent financial year. Export business accounts for more than 80 per cent of sales. Kaindl Flooring, a subsidiary company, is a leading supplier of laminate flooring with an annual total production of 25 mio m².
