Cencosud cooperates with Cornershop

The Chilean retail group Cencosud has entered into cooperation with service provider Cornershop. The deal will cover supermarkets in Chile, Peru, Colombia and Brazil as well as the home improvement stores of Cencosud in Chile and Colombia.

Cornershop's app enables consumers to commission a shopper to fulfil their order for delivery at a certain place and time. Owned by the Uber transport service provider, the company promises to have the scheduled order completed in under an hour.

Cencosud and Cornershop also plan to develop a concept for so-called dark stores, thus stores dedicated to e-commerce picking.
