Declining figures

Glee, the international garden trade fair, and Petindex, the pet fair held at the same time, came to a close in Birmingham on 19 September after a full three show days. Figures announced by the organisers indicate that trade visitor registrations totalled 24 530, or 2.4 per cent fewer than last year. The number of exhibitors was 11 per cent down on the figure for 2005: altogether 1 500 suppliers were represented there this year. The mood among both exhibitors and visitors was downright positive, according to information from the organisers, in spite of the difficult 2006 season.
