Bauhaus will cease its retail operations in Norway by the end of the year. The online business will continue, Interbauhaus AG has announced. Following a lengthy and careful evaluation of its business activities in Norway and an examination of all options, the company has decided to discontinue its high-street operations in that country in future. "Despite intensive efforts since entering the market in 2007, we see no sustainable prospects for running the business profitably in the long term," said the holding company of the internationally active group, which is based in Belp, Switzerland.
Interbauhaus AG has concluded "that an orderly withdrawal and the winding up of the three existing sites in Stavanger, Liertoppen and Vestby are the most responsible course of action".
