The DIY division of the French building materials group Samse has closed the first quarter with an increase in turnover. It operates under the L’Entrepôt du Bricolage brand. Compared with the same period last year, the group’s DIY stores generated turnover of EUR 89.4 mio. This was 4.8 per cent more than in the same period last year. On a like-for-like basis, however, turnover fell by 1.3 per cent. This is due to the acquisition of the two RG Bricolage sites in Grenoble.
The building materials trading business performed significantly worse. Here, the group saw a 4.7 per cent decline, generating turnover of EUR 367.3 mio.
