The garden centre chain Dehner is celebrating its 30th anniversary in Austria this month. The first store opened in Pasching near Linz in 1996. Today, the company has 19 locations across all nine federal states in Austria. The company employs around 600 staff in the Alpine republic.

To mark the anniversary, Dehner is also making a local impact – right where it all began 30 years ago: on 17 March, the company donated three raised beds to the PT 1 Polytechnic School in Linz-Pasching and will now support the school in the long term with donations of herbs. The aim is to inspire young people to take an interest in nature, sustainability and healthy eating, and to promote hands-on learning.

This regional responsibility is also reflected in the company’s social commitment: the Dehner Relief Fund, established by the owner family, has been supporting the work of food banks in Austria since 2017. As part of this, around 12,000 euros were donated to the Association of Austrian Food Banks last year.
