In early January 2026, Home Depot and Google announced at a US developer conference that they would be entering into a strategic partnership to introduce a new AI agent into Home Depot stores. The move is intended to enable new features of Home Depot's Magic Apron assistant, including AI-powered product list creation for professionals, contextualized project advice, live inventory availability at Home Depot, and shelf-level market orientation.
“We are opening a new chapter in retail, where technology not only suggests products, but solves problems,” said Jose Gomes, Vice President, Retail & Consumer Packaged Goods at Google Cloud.
