The International Plant Fair (IPM) started today in Essen with a good visitor turnout. The world's leading plant fair runs until Friday. Across 100,000 m² of fully occupied hall space, 1,476 registered exhibitors (around 76 more than last year) from 41 countries are presenting their latest products and services in the fields of plants and technology . Sixty-eight percent of the exhibiting companies come from outside Germany, as Oliver P. Kurth, CEO of Messe Essen, emphasized at the previous press conference. The trade fair is all about “collectively holding up the plant,” Kurth continued. Visitor numbers are expected to return to the level of previous years. A year ago, more than 40,000 trade visitors came to Essen for IPM.
