In German e-commerce, the home improvement sector performed above average in 2025. The DIY and flowers category is one of the segments with the highest growth rates. Compared to the previous year, sales in this category grew by 4.9 per cent, reaching a volume of EUR 3.042 bn. Total retail sales to end customers in German e-commerce rose in all quarters last year for the first time since 2021, reaching EUR 83.1 bn. This corresponds to growth of 3.2 per cent (previous year: 1.1 per cent). These figures were announced by the German E-Commerce and Distance Selling Trade Association BEVH.

Most neighbouring industries to DIY and flowers are also above this average. The pet supplies category grew by 5.0 per cent, household goods and appliances by 4.8 per cent, home textiles by 4.6 per cent, hobby and leisure items by 3.5 per cent, and furniture, lamps and decoration by 3.3 per cent.
