Relief in the building industry

The expectation of the European building and construction sector is for a two per cent increase for the current year. This estimate was expressed by Dieter Schäfer, chairman of the exhibitors’ advisory committee at Bau, during the international press conference held in the run-up to the fair in Munich. Furthermore, Schäfer continued, the upward trend will flatten off slightly again in the year 2005, but in his outlook for the year 2006 he forecast a slight acceleration of growth once again. The Bau trade fair, which is due to take place in Munich from 17 to 22 January 2005, is considered to be the European construction industry’s most prestigious event.
