Koelnmesse is offering exhibitors at the new Asia-Pacific Sourcing in Cologne a quality audit in the run-up to the fair, to be carried out by TÜV Rheinland (an independent testing and assessment service). The companies can have their products tested and certified in accordance with German and international standards. It is expected that the reputation of these TÜV analyses will be of assistance to exhibitors in their marketing activities. The fair organisers take the view that such cooperation will ensure that the products on show can demonstrate a verifiable standard for visitors. The TÜV’s services are graded in six packages. Some of these include assistance in document verification and compilation of internationally required documentation. Asia-Pacific Sourcing, to be held from 27 February to 1 March 2005, is open to manufacturers and distributors from this continent. It is structured in the following sectors: “Hardware + DIY” (tools, locks and fittings, DIY, tradesmen’s products, hardware sundries, fasteners and fixings), “Garden + Leisure” (outdoor furniture, garden equipment, barbecues, camping, sporting goods and games, leisure products) and “Ambiente” (glassware, porcelain, ceramics and table decoration, lighting, gifts and seasonal articles).
