Home Depot recorded sales of US $ 19.960 bn (€ 16.1872 bn) in the second quarter. This amounts to growth of 11 per cent over the second quarter in 2003. Sales were up by 4.8 per cent in like-for-like terms. As CEO Bob Nardelli commented, this is the first time in the company’s 25-year history that sales of US $ 20 bn have been achieved in one single quarter. Net profit for this period went up by 18.9 per cent over the comparable period last year to US $ 1.545 bn (€ 1.253 bn). Home Depot reveals sales for the first half-year up by 13.3 per cent to US $ 37.510 bn (€ 30.416 bn) and net profit up by 19.8 per cent to US $ 2.643 bn (€ 2.143 bn).
