Austrians keen on DIY projects

AC Nielsen questions consumers about what they are planning for their homes and gardens and about DIY superstore brands

Around one third (34 per cent) of Austrians questioned intend to be actively involved in building, home or garden projects over the next six months. It is clear from a survey carried out by the AC Nielsen opinion research institute that half of them are planning a renovation job either indoors or outside. Tasks in connection with garden layout or flowers are a happy prospect for 38 per cent of those surveyed, and 32 per cent declared that they would be working on interior fixtures during the next half year in the course of alterations to their house or flat.
The pollsters also inquired about customer awareness of the builder centre and DIY superstore brand names. It must be said that the survey was limited to the catchment areas of Hagebau outlets. There Hagebau heads the field with a prompted awareness factor of 96 per cent, whereas Baumax takes the lead in unprompted customer awareness.
These customer awareness results can be found at our DIYglobal plus site under Trade topics (v. Other articles on this topic).
