At the beginning of the year the fair organisers were still confident that Créabitat, the only DIY trade fair in France, would make the third round this year. But there was so little interest within the sector that the fair was cancelled, for this current year and for the future as well.
More than 50 000 visitors from all over the world are expected to attend Jarditec and Urbatec-Urbavert within the framework of the Salons d’Automne. This year once again the multi-trade fair for professional gardeners and marketing specialists offers a wealth of information on current trends and new products. Which is the reason why, for example, newly launched breeds of plants are on view at the adjoining “New Plants” section. Jarditec will have 380 exhibitors from 22 countries presenting their product ranges on a space of 32 000 m². An instant poll carried out last year showed that Jarditec is highly valued by international visitors as the meeting place for Europe’s garden industry: four out of five visitors confirmed their intention to come again in 2002.
More show space will be dedicated to the plant section in the future.
Jarditec’s programme is being cautiously extended through an expansion of the live plants section. The “Pôle Végétal” covers 12 000 m² both inside and outside the halls, where products from the plant world that are really worth a visit are put on display. A novelty of a special kind is offered by the “Espace Découverte” display of new products. This is designed to appeal to sales professionals above all, providing them with ideas for marketing, showroom layouts and methods of approaching customers. The main trend-setting products can be seen at a glance in the entrance to the fair. The range to be found at Jarditec includes tools, garden furniture, paving slabs, lamps, latticework, fencing, containers, nursery plants as well as houseplants and cut flowers.
