Kingfisher seeks a new boss

Véronique Laury has been at the helm of Kingfisher since 2015.

Kingfisher is looking for a new CEO. A press release by the company states that no decision has been taken yet as to the departure date of Véronique Laury, who has been at the helm of Europe's second-biggest DIY store group since 2015. Laury, who supports the board's decision, is quoted as saying "I will continue to give 100 per cent until the day I depart".

The reason given for the planned change at the top of the British group is that the "One Kingfisher" strategy targeting a transformation in the retail group is entering its final year. "Vero", as board chairman Andy Cosslett refers to French-born Laury, has been the driving force behind the strategy to turn Kingfisher into "a more unified and innovative business". Cosslett added: "This year will mark a transition in our transformation journey having now reached a critical mass."
