Hornbach starts new format for floorings in the Netherlands

10.09.2021

In the Dutch town of Kerkrade, Hornbach is starting a new format, this year still, with "Hornbach Vloeren". It is to supply DIYers and professional customers with floorings: with tiles to laminate and parquet, right up to carpets and PVC floors. "Here, we are closing the gap between the classic do-it-yourself store and specialist trade," says Evert de Goede, national chief executive of Hornbach in the Netherlands. The new Hornbach Vloeren, with a retail space of a good 7 000 m², is situated very closely to the Hornbach store in Kerkrade which was opened in 1999. The assortment will also be available online. Even though there are similarities to the Bodenhaus concept by Hornbach which was started in Germany, the Dutch specialist store concept is said to be an independent format.
