In the French e-commerce, the product group DIY and Garden apparently has a lot of catching up to do. Among the ten product groups in the latest statistics of the French e-commerce association Fevad, it currently stands at last place. Only 22.5 per cent of online buyers ordered DIY or garden products in 2020. In comparison: in the case of fashion, the share is 53.9 per cent, for "Home and Decoration" it is 29.7 per cent (8th place).
However one DIY store group made it into the top 10 of most-visited websites in France: Leroy Merlin reached one fifth of the French with its site according to Fevad.
Overall, EUR 112.2 bn in sales were made through e-commerce in France last year. That is 8.5 per cent more than the previous year. Sales of goods, though, rose by 32 per cent and now has a share of 54 per cent of the overall sales volume in e-commerce. On the other hand, the online sales of services sank by 10 per cent.
