In Zalău, the Romanian DIY chain Dedeman is opening its 50th store.

Dedeman, the market leader in the construction materials and home improvement segment in Romania, is opening its 50th store. The opening ceremony for the new store, which is located in Zalău in the north-west of the country, will take place tomorrow, 18 December 2019. Dedeman has invested EUR 12 mio in the store. Its next store opening will not take place until next year in Ghencea, part of the Romanian capital Bucharest.

Dedeman Zalău is the only store opened in 2019; the previous store was opened by the retailer in Bucharest in September last year. Apart from these, Dedeman has expanded and reopened its outlets in Focșani and Onesti this year.

The total sales area of the new store in Zalău is 12 700 m², 2 500 m² of which are assigned to the garden centre.

In the first half of 2019, Dedeman increased its sales by 15 per cent to more than RON 3.5 bn (EUR 745 mio), according to public data reported by the Romanian online service
