DIY and hobby stores, hardware shops and bicycle stores will be permitted to reopen from Thursday 9 April in the Czech Republic. The Czech government has ordered retailers to tighten up their hygiene measures, however. Customers must maintain a minimum distance of two metres from one another and use disinfectant and disposable shoes. The country reacted sooner and more extensively than many of its European neighbours, declaring a state of emergency on 12 March.
