Cencosud grows in local currencies in 2018, but is down in Chilean Pesos

Easy is Cencosud's main sales channel in its home improvement division.

The Chilean retail group Cencosud recorded sales totalling CLP  1,190.508 bn (EUR 1.560 bn) in its home improvement stores under the Easy and Blaisten brand (only in Argentina) last year. Although sales increased by 17.9 per cent in local currencies, the group suffered a downturn of 10.7 per cent in Chilean Pesos. The figures were as follows in the individual countries:

Chile: CLP 534.351 bn (EUR 700 mio), +3.8 per cent, +4.0 per cent same-store sales

Argentina: CLP 588.958 bn (EUR 772 mio), -22.0 per cent, +28.4 per cent in local currency, +24.4 per cent SSS

Colombia: CLP 67.200 bn (EUR 88 mio), +6.2 per cent, 7.6 per cent in local currency, +7.6 per cent SSS
