The China International Hardware Show (CIHS) increased both its exhibitor and visitor numbers this year. As was the case a year ago, the trade fair was held in conjunction with the China International Building Hardware & Fasteners Show and the China International Locks & Security Doors Show.
From 10 to 12 October 2025, 2,977 companies and brands from 16 countries and regions presented their products and services in Shanghai, once again occupying 120,000 m² of exhibition space. This was around 6 per cent more exhibitors than in 2024. International exhibitors came from Germany, France, India, Italy, Japan, Pakistan, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom and the USA, among others. 23,628 trade visitors came from 123 countries and regions, around 3 per cent more than in the previous year.
Next year, the event will take place almost two weeks earlier. Date: 28 to 30 September 2026.
CIHS is organised by the China National Hardware Association in cooperation with the German trade fair organiser Koelnmesse. Sebastian Rosito, Vice President Trade Fair Management at Koelnmesse GmbH, commented on the global significance of the trade fair: "We are delighted that CIHS continues to serve as a key platform for strengthening international business ties. The close collaboration between our Chinese partners and those from around the globe highlights the unique role that this exhibition plays in connecting markets, both now and in the future. The strong international participation this year reflects the shared confidence in this fair. CIHS demonstrates its relevance for the Chinese hardware industry, making it a cornerstone for partnerships and progress in the region.”
“Thanks to the joint efforts of the organisers and partners, this year’s show has made solid progress,” remarked Mr. Zhang Dongli, President of China National Hardware Association. “Exhibitors brought many new products, and both buyers and visitors increased from last year, creating a vibrant atmosphere. We hope to further improve the show and bring more value to all participants, helping Chinese companies go global and attracting more international peers to China for a win-win cooperation.”
The two-day CIHS 2025 workshops, focusing on “The New Horizon: Journey of Chinese Brands to the World” and “The Next Wave: An In-Depth Dialogue on Cross-Border Growth”, began with a strong focus on improving trade communication and channel management. Industry experts from associations and companies such as Edra/Ghin, Ebay, Temu and Merit-Link Group shared insights on navigating the global market’s evolving challenges and opportunities for tool brands. Discussions highlighted the trends in Europe regarding sustainability, consumer preferences, and local policies, according to the organisers. Participants also explored the role of digital tools, cross-border e-commerce, and emerging approaches in branding strategies to the international market.
Complementing the workshops, tailored trade activities and newly launched DIY woodcrafts station and showcase were organised to bring global buyers closer to the heart of Chinese hardware manufacturing. These direct communication at the booth visits and the interactive workshops should help to reinforce connections and to facilitate strategic sourcing decisions. These initiatives are targeting key global markets such as Europe, North and South America, ASEAN, Middle East, Central Asia and Belt and Road regions.
