Stihl has officially inaugurated its first site in Oradea (Romania), which is dedicated exclusively to the production of battery packs and battery-powered tools. The EUR 125 mio investment represents a milestone in the company's transformation towards battery technology, according to a press release. The new plant is also set to become the European centre of excellence for the manufacture of battery packs and battery-powered tools.
After 18 months of construction, a modern factory with a production area of 47,000 m² has been built on a 147,000 m² site in Oradea.
The plant has been certified with the Gold Standard by the German Sustainable Building Council (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen; DGNB) – recognition for its energy-efficient construction and use of renewable energy systems.
