Davidsen grows by 24 per cent in 2019 after Optimera takeover

The Danish timber merchant Davidsens Tømmerhandel, to which the DIY chain Optimera has also belonged since 2019, made sales last year of DKK 2.3 bn (EUR 308 mio). That was around DKK 450 mio (EUR 60 mio) or 24 per cent more than the previous year. The cost of the purchase of Optimera is reported by Davidsen to be DKK 10.8 mio (EUR 1.45 mio).
The company has announced further investments, in particular in the online business as well as in retail and also specialist trade. "In the online trade with private customers we are still growing very strongly," explains CEO Henrik Clausen. "This has also continued during the coronavirus crisis in the year 2020." However he states that the professional segment will continue to be Davidsen's main focus in future.
