Metro investing in Turkey

The German retail group Metro intends to expand its operations in Turkey further. Its programme of investment includes a further outlet for DIY subsidiary Praktiker, which is to be opened in Antalya. This was the news announced by Metro’s chairman and CEO Joachim Körber at a press conference in Istanbul. Metro AG plans to invest more than € 300 mio in total. The Praktiker store would be the ninth store to open in Turkey. Plans are also in hand for two Real supermarkets in Istanbul and a cash & carry store in Antalya.
