Further double-digit growth for Kesko

During the first nine months the DIY stores and builders’ merchants belonging to K-Allianz generated sales in excess of one billion euros

The DIY stores and builders’ merchant outlets grouped together in the so-called K-Allianz of the Finnish trading group, Kesko, recorded sales of € 1.0832 bn during the first nine months of the current year. Which amounts to an increase of 16.3 per cent on the same period last year. In Finland, where the K-rauta and Rautia sales formats are in the marketplace, sales went up by 8.5 per cent to € 721.9 mio. The stores in the new growth countries saw their sales increase by 36.1 per cent to € 360.4 mio. Kesko operates K-rauta stores in Sweden, Estonia and Latvia, whereas the group is represented in Lithuania by a stake in Senukai. And this country is where by far the biggest foreign contribution was made: a total of € 211.3 mio, representing an increase of 59.1 per cent.
