Up to ten new stores are to open annually over the next three years

The Argos Retail Group, which is part of Great Universal Stores and the new owner of the British Homebase stores, is planning more new DIY superstore openings. An additional five to ten new outlets are to be opened per annum over the next three years. The strategy will include extending the mezzanine floor concept to further stores. Currently 27 of the total of 272 stores have a mezzanine floor, which expands the trading space by around a quarter. Next year should see 20 more stores altered in accordance with this concept.
