Fackelmann’s programme of bathroom furniture includes eight series with more than 30 different decor finishes at prices to suit every pocket. The Prima takeaway concept is designed to appeal mainly to price-sensitive focus groups. This is a range of bathroom furniture at prices to suit first-time buyers. Careful product arrangement and an information system make it easier for customers in DIY stores to put together their individual selection of furniture.
In normal heavy-duty racking (2.70 m wide) Fackelmann can install a complete setup for bathroom furniture. All units and accessories are supplied with coloured labels, signs and explanations, with large stickers indicating the structural width of the items.
Prima, the takeaway furnishing concept, goes for presentation on heavy-duty racking.
For the most part the setups are effected on the “second level”. Directly below them (or beside them for installations at ground level) is a specially developed racking box for “stock items”, i.e. for base units, trim packs, mirror-fronted cabinets and accessories. A board attached to the racking provides information about the great variety of possible combinations and a step-by-step guide to the finished bathroom layout. The stock items are packed in cardboard boxes for protection during transport. Fackelmann staff take on the setting up of the display bay and the self-service racking as well as checking the guidance system and reordering.
Six different types of base unit in white and four basic decors (saphir and chroma in matt white, ash in white plus red beech) are available. These allow for variations in layout with tall cupboards, under-bench cabinets and a unit to fit under the washbasin. The mirrored Chromstar cabinet (65 cm wide) has been incorporated into the overall concept. Accessories such as drawers or trap covers are also integrated into the racking system. The product range is completed by “Rolli”, the mobile under-sink cupboard.
An informative board on the racking box guides customers to the desired product.
The Prima takeaway concept has already been installed in about 300 Praktiker outlets in Germany and Austria as well as in many OBI and Hagebau stores.
Fackelmann operates 15 foreign branches. For this year the Hersbruck team has plans to open up markets in the United Kingdom, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Denmark and Sweden.
