German DIY retail association needs new chairperson

The German DIY retail association BHB will have to look for a new chairperson. Ralf Bartsch, who has only been speaker of the BHB executive board for almost a year, is namely withdrawing as speaker of the management board of the trading company Brüder Schlau at the end of the year 2019. Taking over his tasks there are Christoph Wackerbauer as managing director of sales and Marcus Opitz as commercial director. In addition to its wholesale activities, the company operates Hammer, the chain of specialist retailers, which as experts in interior design, carry in particular paints, wallpapers, floorings, bathroom equipment, curtains, bedding and mattresses in its assortment.
Bartsch wants to lay down his mandate as BHB chairman as early as at the next general meeting. The assembly will take place on 3 December, on the day before the BHB congress in Wiesbaden.
