Clas Ohlson wants to test new shop formats and concepts in the Nordic countries. With the exception of eleven locations which are already planned, the Swedish company is discontinuing its expansion in the Nordic countries for the time being, as stated in the half-year report. This step is connected to the revision of the company's strategy entitled "100 more years", which is concerned with alternatives in the marketing of the Clas Ohlson brand and related business models. The new strategy is to be introduced in spring 2018.
In the second quarter of its financial year 2017/2018 (August to October) Clas Ohlson made sales of SEK 1.999 bn and thus two per cent more than in the same period of the previous year. This increase is three per cent in local currencies.
