The management of Hornbach in Sweden is being placed into new hands: Joachim Lööb will become part of the Hornbach team from August 2023, the company informs. He will then take over responsibility as managing director at the end of the year, a role previously held by Oliver Garrecht. The DIY chain currently operates eight combined DIY and garden centres in the Scandinavian country.

Lööb was born in Sweden. After studying business informatics at university in Skövde and Stockholm, he worked at Volvo in various management positions until 2011. In 2012 he joined Hornbach, first as head of Lean Management, later as programme manager for Interconnected Retailing and since 2018 as district manager in Sweden. In 2022, Joachim Lööb moved back to Volvo, and now he is returning once again.

Oliver Garrecht, who previously managed the national subsidiary, has been with Hornbach for around 30 years and will remain with the team, according to the DIY store operator.
