The Philippines was badly affected by the pandemic. How did home improvement retailers react to this situation? Our correspondent Jennee Grace U Rubrico followed this up locally. The responses she solicited form the lead story in the latest issue of the trade magazine DIY International, which is now out on sale. The magazine also covers a host of other topics from the global DIY and garden sector. The editorial team spoke to Andrea Scown, for example, the hew head of Mitre 10 in New Zealand, as well as summarising the press conference of the French industry associations looking back on 2020 and reporting figures from the German-speaking countries. Belgian sector expert Thierry Coeman also presents his "Hammer time" essay (also available for order HERE).
The country focus looks in detail at the Nordic countries. Among other things, DIY International reports on the latest developments at Byggmax and introduces the Swedish supplier Välinge and its connection solutions for floor coverings. The statistics department at Dähne Verlag has contributed plenty of material, while the editorial team also shines a spotlight on sustainability, with examples from the sector to illustrate this topic.
