Store closures cause HomePro a decline in sales for the first time

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Thai HomePro group had to accept a drop in sales for the first time in the year 2020. HomePro made sales of THB 58.34677 bn and thus 7.45 per cent less than in the previous year with its activities in the retail trade (product sales and service income). The reason was the closure of the stores in Thailand from 22 March to 16 May 2020 and in Malaysia from 18 March to 3 May.
In this situation, the company was cautious about store expansion, the annual report emphasised. Only two new stores were opened, located in high potential areas, the report continued. By the end of 2020, there were 86 HomePro stores, nine HomePro S stores and 14 MegaHome stores in Thailand and six HomePro stores in Malaysia.
