Growth in first quarter

Canadian Tire recorded retail sales of CA $ 1.51 bn (€ 0.95 bn) for the first quarter, or an increase of 4.8 per cent over the same period last year. Comparable store sales amounted to 2.5 per cent. At the end of the quarter the group had 458 stores in operation. This year the network is to be expanded by the addition of 20 outlets altogether.
