The EU offers the best prospects for Chinese exporters of gardening tools
Eighty-five per cent of the respondents see the greatest growth potential for their products in the EU over the coming months. Further possibilities for growth are seen by 60 per cent of those questioned in the USA, which is currently the biggest importer of gardening tools from China. Eastern Europe, including the newly admitted EU member states, is considered by 20 per cent to offer market potential, and the Middle East is pinpointed by eight per cent. The export of gardening tools from China (excluding powered garden equipment) grew by 23 per cent in the first six months of 2004 over the same period last year to US $ 81.78 mio.
