New merchandising display
The in-store merchandising concept for energy-saving lamps is designed to convince consumers of the products’ cost-effectiveness. Consequently the header displays a clearly structured calculation, which allows prospective customers to see how much the use of energy-saving lamps costs and how it will pay off. Two display systems have been developed. The first has room for 280 energy-saving 11 W /E27 GLS shape lamps, and the second display takes 576 standard energy-saving 2-U 11W/E27 lamps.

Strong adhesion
Gymcol has developed Magic Kit, an adhesive that is suitable for porous materials like ceramics, porcelain, wood and rubber. This adhesive can also be used for vertical applications, including work on ceilings, since it is of a gel-type consistency that does not drip. When used in conjunction with the Activator Spray the adhesive offers strong adhesion and dries quickly. Magic Kit is supplied to retailers in blister packs containing two 3 g tubes of adhesive and one 10 ml can of Aktivator Spray.

Programme of plastic profiles
Neuhofer Holz offers plastic profiles in a great number of shapes and finishes for a variety of applications, including use in damp locations. The range concentrates particularly on parquet profiles, hollow notch profiles, stair profiles and carpet profiles. Also available for many of these profiles are accessories that include outer and inner corners, connection pieces and end pieces, and fastening systems like the Clipholder CH1 made of spring steel.

Ease of construction
Roofing elements for garden sheds and summerhouses have now been added to Ondine’s product programme. Abrituil is the name of these elements, which are available in four colours (red, brown, blue or green) and measuring 1 050 mm x 500 mm. They are equally suitable for use on garden sheds, providing shelter for caravans or protecting firewood. Each element weighs a mere 1.55 kg and is made of bitumen-impregnated cellulose and resin. Special mountings are available for installation purposes, as well as suitably coloured nails for visible fixings.

Pre-assembled and framed
Optimal, a sectional door supplied pre-assembled and framed, is new to the programme of garage door specialists Wayne-Dalton. It is fitted as a module, which reduces the installation time to approximately one hour. The exterior finish is white galvanised steel stucco, and the fittings are positioned inside the garage. Watertight seals run around the entire door. Available as optional extras are an electric door opener and an insulation kit.

Bolt with combination lock
The Combi-Bolt locking system from Combi-Locks offers a drawbolt with an individually adjustable 4-digit combination lock. The aim in developing the system was to fill a market niche through offering a product that is as easy to use as a bolt, but provides the security of a padlock. The locking system is made of solid brass and is suitable for securing internal doors, garage doors, windows and greenhouses and many other objects.

From pointed to straight
Skil’s new 7115 detail sander can be changed with the aid of the “Auto Clic” system from the pointed position to a straight leading edge. By simply turning the tip of the tool it is possible to vary the width of the 93 mm sanding sheet for working with different bases. The straight side is suitable for working on long stretches such as door frames or windows, whereas the angled position allows for working on corners, edges and sides.

New range of saw blades
Available from Wilh. Putsch, a Remscheid-based company, is a range of blades for jig-saws, sabre saws and compressed air saws, hole saws and HM planer blades. The company’s new products include the demolition metal Hypercut (10 teeth/inch) with wavy set teeth for cutting steel thicker than 3 mm, and demolition wood Hypercut (6 teeth/inch) with side set teeth for straight cuts in wood. Also new are the 5/8 Combo for all wood types with some metal residue and the dismantling blade (8/10 teeth/inch) especially for window frames.
