After shortfalls in April the sector again achieves sales growth in May

The DIY stores in France recorded sales up by 1.1 per cent in May over the same month last year. It emerges from the statistics supplied by the French retail association FMB, that the cumulative figure from January to May was also 1.1 per cent above the sales results for the first five months of 2003. By contrast, the month of April experienced a setback, with the DIY retail groups remaining 3.1 per cent below their previous year’s performance.
